In the mean time, there was a linux kernel upgrade in Ubuntu 16.04, and whatever that kernel changed, I have not had connection failure ever since. I would therefore cautiously mark this issue resolved for now.
About the suggested BIOS upgrade: there appears to be something messed up on Lenovo's webpage: while version 1.42 is stated as available, the download links provided on that page will provide version 1.40. One has to guess the correct download URL to access the most recent BIOS version: BIOS version 1.42: https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/8duj27us.exe Description: https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/8duj27us.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1584533 Title: Lenovo X220 unable to wlan after resume from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1584533/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
