Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce:
1. Use the Gmail user agent override specified here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1375889 2. Ensure 'Auto punctuation' is enabled in system settings 3. Compose a message 4. Double tap space Expected result: A full stop should be inserted Actual result: Two spaces are inserted This is because this version of Gmail replaces all spaces we insert with non-breaking space characters ( ), so the keyboard needs to be able to handle any sort of space character, not just those we insert ourselves. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: In Progress ** Affects: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Michael Sheldon (michael-sheldon) Status: In Progress ** Changed in: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Michael Sheldon (michael-sheldon) ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1593634 Title: Typing double space to insert full stops doesn't work with non- breaking spaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1593634/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
