Thanks for your report. I am not sure we want laptop-mode-tools to trigger hibernation in Ubuntu anyway. That should be taken care of by the gnome-power-manager. Check your settings in System->Preferences->Power Management
We should probably patch laptop-mode to not try to hibernate.
