I'm not sure, but this corner case could be common among LVM users,
where /boot needs/should be outside the LVM. This is why I have kernels
of different distributions in same /boot. Using 'lsb_release -s -i'
would still output 'Ubuntu' like it was previously.

Let's leave this bug open though if anyone else is running to same
issue. I can easily just modify /usr/sbin/update-grub to play nicely
with my setup.
