I have ubuntu 16.04 as a virtual box guest. If I suspend the system (ie, close it and save state) the mouse pointer is not visible when resuming. The switch to terminal and back to X does not work, unfortunately. I don't recall this happening in 15.10. The bug occurs with virtual box 5.0.16 through to 5.1 beta 2.
