When running Gutsy Beta LiveCD in Vmware Workstation 5.5.2 build-29772, I
cannot change the resolution from System > Screen Resolution.
(Host: Ubuntu 7.04 all updates/backports applied, nv driver)
The default resolution selected is 1680x1050, which is too big since
Vmware is running in a window slightly smaller than 1280x1024. Lots of
other resolutions and refresh rats are listed in the applet, and when I
select any other resolution (eg. 800x600) and any refresh rate (eg. 60
Hz), and press Apply, a dialog pops up with the following text:
Do you want to keep this resolution?
Testing the new settings. If you don't respond in <n> seconds the previous
settings will be restored.
But the resolution has not been changed! Whichever button I press then,
the dialog goes away and nothing happens.
