Public bug reported:

File->Open brings up a dialog which "looks" very Ubuntu system provided,
but, it only has options for Home and Computer. Networked storage such
as Western Digital MyCloud are not visible or navigable to. Packages
such as Gedit and LeafPad have a file open dialog looking the same but
offering both bookmarked and networked storage locations.
