Public bug reported:

One thing that I like in Unity is the panel and it's way of integrating
with the windows to reduce wasted display space. But I really dislike
the way it works in a multiple display setup. I know that the top panel
needs to be on all displays to keep the window menus and such, but do we
really need to duplicate all of the indicators like clock,
notifications, power options and such? Could we please keep this on the
primary display and simply have an empty panel on the rest for the
window controls? It looks terrible when you have multiple displays lined
up next to each other, and I have deselected Unity in the past for this
exact reason. 5 years later, and this is still an issue, despite the
many, many comments on the topic.
