I now observed that sometimes, in a KDE application (Kate), only a newly
opened dialog causes the keyboard to stop working. If I close that
dialog immediately and open it again, the keyboard works normally again.
So it's something window-based that causes the keyboard to stop working.
(Btw - ignore this, material for another bug report - currently scim is
so buggy that when I quit scim (the GTK applet) in KDE, all open
applications crash. I'm just glad I could make it work at all. Hint:
sil.org repository.)
