I have done a fresh Ubuntu 16.04 install and then I have installaed the mainline kernel suggested, i.e. 4.6.0-040600rc6-generic.
I have tested all day long the machine and it seems there is no random monitor shut-down anymore, nor "[drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR*" in the kernel log. It seems this problem has somehow been fixed. Will update in case of new problems. Thanks for your help. ** Tags added: kernel-fixed-upstream ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573120 Title: VGA monitor goes to sleep randomly in 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/i915/+bug/1573120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
