This is awesome, thank you for performing the test case. Now I know that the flaw is still somewhere in the Ubuntu System Settings and it is most probably a race.
As for the other issues that you have observed I would prefer to first solve the pairing bug and the other you mention will be waiting in the queue. The best thing, as you suggest, would be to report these as separate issues so that we can track them and manage the priorities.
