I'm experiencing the same problem when using the context menu in the menu bar to swap workspaces.
Also if I use a keyboard shorcut (I have the Put plugin activated in the CompizConfig Settings Manager) to move the window it disappears briefly and then reappears in the same place (I haven't changed workspaces since I have the Unfocus Window option selected in the Put Compiz plugin).
