For what it's worth, booting with "acpi=off" seems to reliably avoid the
hang, although it comes with side effects an therefore isn't really a
good workaround. None of the other acpi-related boot options mentioned
at <https://01.org/linux-acpi/documentation/debug-how-isolate-linux-
acpi-issues> seem to help.

So far, booting with the 4.3.5 wily kernel seems to be the most usable
workaround..
