Seeing the same problem with 16.04 from 15.10: no main menu for some applications. Thunderbird and Firefox are not affected. Happens with: LibreOffice 5.1.2.2 Document viewer 3.18.2 Gimp 2.8.16
Menus reappear after logout-login.
