CONFIG_X86_LEGACY_VM86 CONFIG_VM86 The same issue occurred in Wily, but was raised and fixed in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1499089 . I had expected that that fix would have automatically carried over to the next release, but it seems it was not.
