Just wanted to add that we are experiencing this same problem (6-school Ubuntu/LTSP5/FF install). A fix would be pretty nice, because this issue is causing our thin clients to hard-lock constantly with regular usage. Not very fun for the students, and the image of Linux/Open source projects, either.
