In that case then this is a bug in apt, I think. I have just had a similar problem with rss-glx and enblend not updating using adept. When I tried to update them using apt-get I discovered that they needed a particular library, which I was then able to install easily, also using apt-get. Users should expect this kind of thing to be corrected automatically.
