This is a well known problem with the Feisty Live CD, and there appears to be no real cure which works for everybody. What you can try is to install the alternate CD for Feisty. Better still: why not wait a couple of weeks and try the newest (K)Ubuntu, (Gutsy) which will be released October 18th.
