For my part, the dialog box was deactivated following one of the suggested solutions...but I don't know if it is related or not...if I switch on another account , and then switch back to mine (Admin), the status bar and left dock are frozen. then I have to close my session (Ctrl + Alt + Suppr) ...and re-open it to get it working
