Public bug reported: Recently I've installed the Kubuntu 7.10 beta on my secondary system, which is a P3, 650 MHz with 512 megs of RAM and a Geforce2 MX200 (NV11DDR).
Initially, it worked without any problems at all, but after the most recent update I have done (earlier today, I believe), a reboot (i.e., an X server restart) made X fall back to 640x480 @ 60hz. Searching the bug tracker, I found that someone has had this problem previously in 5.10, but I'm unsure as to whether this is the same problem. Executing 'xresprobe nvidia', as root, I found that it did detect the correct settings for my monitor - however, doing 'ddcprobe' returned 'edidfail'. Manually inputting HorizSync and VertRefresh in xorg.conf, it works fine, and allows me to use the proper resolution again. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Geforce 2, low resolution in Gutsy beta, EDID fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148089 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
