Public bug reported: Using nemo as primary desktop manager, desktop icons may disappear when rearranged or never appear when pasted.
They are however placed in the folder "Desktop" my userfolder. I've found out that it's related to a multimonitoring setup: The icons show up fine if the second monitor is located left of the primary monitor, but won't if it's on the right side. Also, rearranging existing icons may get one icon "pushed off the side". Howto: -have a dual-monitor system, 2nd monitor on the right (via ubuntu-settings, displays) -go to some folder and make a link (via crtl-m) -copy or cut the link -paste it on the desktop via crtl-v -it won't appear. nemo 2.8.6+really2.6.7-2~webupd8~trusty1, Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS x64 (nautilus uninstalled) ** Affects: nemo (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: webupd8 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551278 Title: some desktop icons may disappear on nemo 2.8.6+really2.6.7-2~webupd8~trusty1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nemo/+bug/1551278/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
