when upgrading from 12.04.5 LTS to 14.04 after successful install you must reboot and there is a blank screen on VMware 5.5.0 enterprise (Vcenter server 5.5.0). VM hangs and only solution is to revert to snapshot (if any :D) regardless open-vm-tools or Vmware tools in use (installed).
