Switching back and forth between text and X is also dead: ctrl+alt+f1 black screen then ctrl+alt+f7, backlight turns off for a sec then black screen again, no cursor ctrl+alt+f12 black screen too then ctrl+alt+f7, ctrl+alt+del does not reboot, power button does not shutdown, caps lock still works
