Public bug reported: How to reproduce: 1) Start Logisim. 2) Use File->save or File->open 3) Try to navigate to a folder other than the home folder. 4) Logisim freezes and have to be killed. It can be killed by a TERM signal.
I of course expected the open/save dialog to open/save the project. Usually logisim works if the .circ file is in the home folder, but not always. I have this problem on two different computers with identical Ubuntu and Logisim installations, but with different Java installations. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 15.10 $ apt-cache policy logisim logisim: Installed: 2.7.1~dfsg-1 Candidate: 2.7.1~dfsg-1 Version table: *** 2.7.1~dfsg-1 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Java versions: Computer 1: $ java -version java version "1.7.0_95" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.6.4) (7u95-2.6.4-0ubuntu0.15.10.1) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.95-b01, mixed mode) Computer 2: $ java -version java version "1.8.0_74" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_74-b02) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.74-b02, mixed mode) ** Affects: logisim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dialog file freeze logisim open save -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545290 Title: Logisim freezes when using the file open/save dialog.
