** Description changed:

- HDS (Hitachi Data Systems) reports:
-
- We have ran into an issue during the setup of ISR 1007183 AT&T.
-
SAN Boot set up with Intel X520 could not be configured using Ubuntu
- 14.04.02 and DF850. Lun is recognized by the BIOS, it is not recognized
- by the OS during SAN Boot installation. To the contrary, local boot is
- getting configured without any problem I the same setup.
+ 14.04.02. Lun is recognized by the BIOS, it is not recognized by the OS
+ during SAN Boot installation. To the contrary, local boot is getting
+ configured without any problem I the same setup.

Here is the details of troubleshooting done in the lab so far:
  · Enabled & Configured Integrated Flash for iSCSI Boot (Intel iSCSI Remote
Boot v3.0.57).
- · Configured iSCSI target in DF850 storage and allocated 100GB LUN.
+ · Configured iSCSI target in storage and allocated 100GB LUN.
  · Using Intel iSCSI boot Initialization tool, configured boot LUN so that
allocated LUN is visible from both paths.
  · After configuration of adapter, switch and target - the iSCSI boot
initialization process could discover the iSCSI LUN (100GB).
  · Mounted Ubuntu-server 14.04.2 LTS OS in the virtual DVD drive of the
server, OS installation was started from the mounted media.
  · While detecting the disk option, server failed to detect any iSCSI disk
drive.
  · Tried to install Ubuntu-server 14.04.3 LTS OS as well, but same problem
was observed.
  · Tried to install RHEL 5U10, but again the same problem. During detecting
the disk, server fails to detect any iSCSI hard drive.
  · Tried to install VMWARE ESXI 5.5.0, this time the installation has been
successful. This was done by following the SAN Boot installation process
written in this link of Intel
http://www.intel.in/content/www/in/en/ethernet-controllers/vmware-vsphere-esx-5x-boot-support-guide.html?wapkw=san+boot&_ga=1.20118136.1193479921.1454388872.
  · No such SAN Boot installation process could be located for Ubuntu or RHEL.
  · VMWare ESXi 5.5.0 SAN Boot installation process did not work for Ubuntu or
RHEL
