Public bug reported: There is a problem (Hang) when iSCSI targets are removed in the 4.4.0 kernel. The problem looks like it spans from 3.18 to 4.5. There is a bug in scsi_scan.c (scsi_mod) and scsi_transport_fc. Emulex tested a fix from Johannes(SUSE) that fixed it in the 4.4.0 kernel but I think it is still waiting to get picked up in a stable kernle. This Hang can happen on any devloss and on driver unload.
There is a patch from Bart van Asche that others reported is needed in order to fix this issue. It's called "Separate target visibility from reaped state information" https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/7987711/ This bug was brought to my attention by Dick Kennedy at Emulex (now acquired by Avago/Broadcom). ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1541587 Title: Hang when iSCSI targets are removed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1541587/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
