Have already tried the 4.4 version of ubuntu, and while it works for sometimes it did develop freezing issues for few system commands . No issues with graphics though.
For what its worth, I have been using my laptop on "fedora23 + dnf update to update the kernel to 4.3 " for more than a week now without any issues whatsoever.
