As far as I understand ubuntu-wine/ppa is also maintained and it is maintained by the same people maintaining the wine packages in Ubuntu's universe repository. (Latest) wine1.8 in ubuntu-wine/ppa happens to have wrong dependencies which should be fixed before wine1.8 is going to be packaged in Ubuntu 16.04 or 16.10.
