I got wifi working on a Acer Aspire V13 (v3-372) through the instructions in #19. Thank you!
However I noticed that I am unable to connect to a secured (WPA PSK) 5GHz network. dmesg shows that the authentication times out. The non-5GHz version of the same network works fine.
