I've made an upgrade to gutsy beta. There were no problems during upgrade, system rebooted successfully.
During bootup system switched to graphics mode (800x600) with message like "your display is not working correctly, bla bla bla". I clicked "configure" button, and Screen and Graphics ("Ekrany i grafika" in polish) window appeared. Driver selected was vesa but I was unable to select any resolution higher than 800x600, so the problem isn't fixed. I saw a message in tray about the fact that Screen and Graphics has beed crashed. I opened synaptic, I selected xserver-xorg-video-openchrome package to install. It said that it would remove xserver-xorg-video-via & xserver- xorg-video-all packages, then error like "those packages (libviaxvmc1 libviaxvmcpro1) should be installed but are not selected to install" (?!?). I've manually installed libviaxvmc1 & libviaxvmcpro1, during the installation xserver-xorg-video-via & xserver-xorg-video-all were uninstalled, then I've installed xserver-xorg-video-openchrome without any problems. My Screen and Graphics doesn't allow me to select different driver than vesa, it was crashing. I made a full upgrade. After upgrade clicking a button with current driver name opens window with driver selection, but without VIA drivers. I've changed monitor type to LCD Panel 1024x768 and I can change resolution to 1024x768 with vesa driver. All this is still far away from perfection. -- [regression] X under feisty is 800x600 not 1024x768 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/100024 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
