Public bug reported:

I've made an upgrade to gutsy beta. I was using Mozilla Thunderbird as
my default mail program. Now, when I press mail button i got message
like "Cannot run the command: mozilla-thunderbird. Please check if this
a correct command." Also clicking an email address in firefox don't
work. Propably that's caused because command name has changed to
"thunderbird".

I've opened "preferred applications" and realized that my gutsy has
wrong settings there. In Web Browser in combo box where I can choose
browser I had "custom settings" selected, with path like
/usr/lib/firefox %s (or something like that). The same in Mail app
settings - there were custom path like "mozilla-thunderbird %s". I'm
sure that I hadn't got any custom paths there.

Changing to "Thunderbird" in combo box fixes the problem but that should
work out of the box.
