Having same problem with Gutsy Gibbon Beta live CD on HP Pavilion dv9000 (AMD Turion TL-56 64-bit).
Was able to run a live CD using 'Safe mode'. However, the installation wizard frozen up at 15%. Using 'noapic nosmp' boot options (see Bug #89746) was able to install and run Ubuntu finally. It seems that only HP Pavilion users are having this problem. I hope this bug will be fixed before the new release. -- HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop hangs on boot unless noapic is used https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135124 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
