As I said, it's a request to stop using the resources on the dock. In Linux you'd want it to unmount the hard drive (if you have one in the base, rather than a CD drive), perform a PCI hotplug on any inserted PCI card (only relevant for the R, T and Z series docks), cleanly unmount any USB or Firewire devices connected and finally call the EJ0 method on the dock device.
The X-series dock contains an Ultrabay slim.
