Public bug reported:

I created a forum Thread for this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=563231

when trying to install Gutsy from the Desktop CD the installation begins
and then it freezes at 5% when creating the file systems

"Creating xfs file system for /var in partition #6 of SCSI1 (0,0,0)
(sda)..."

    * I have restarted my computer several times,
    * i tried launching ubiquity with gksudo, gksu,
    * i tried installing without my /var partition but the installation hangs
at 5% when creating /,
    * i tried changing the FS to ext3, xfs, and reiserfs in both / and /var and
the installer keeps hanging,
    * i checked the cd for errors and no errors where found,
    * i tried not formating / or /var but the installer won't continue,
    * i don't know what else to try.
    * i tried launching ubiquity from a shell to catch error messages but there
is no output

i downloaded the ISO yesterday, any ideas?
