The problem also happens with the development version of kubuntu 16.04, with all updates released till 12.01.2016 installed. I confirm that it is fixed by installing the 2 packages: qml-module-qt-labs-folderlistmodel and qml-module-qt-labs-settings. Thanks to Serhiy for finding the reason for this problem!
