this is not a pbuilder bug: pbuilder does not check if he should build the package or not at all, it just hands the .dsc to dpkg-buildpackage after satisfying build-deps.
Interestingly enough, I trying to look up "in arch list or does not match any arch wildcards" in codesearch.d.n, and the only results have been from sbuild and xbuilder.
