Good news, the follow-up issue (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=783376) has been resolved. This was fixed in version 1.2-3 which has been synced to Ubuntu Xenial (the current development version). I've tested with this version, and I've been able to play the game without any problems or error messages. Thus I believe this issue can be marked as fixed.
Unfortunately I don't know the details of the fix, so I don't know how easy it would be to apply for older releases as well. (Though if someone really wants/needs this fix for an existing Ubuntu release, we could try looking into making an SRU https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure) ** Tags removed: utopic ** Tags added: wily ** Changed in: glhack (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/684559 Title: glhack has no write permission for /var/games/glhack To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glhack/+bug/684559/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
