I have not been able to get bluetooth running in Ubuntu 14.04, 14.10, or
15.10 on my Toshiba laptop. Bluetooth does work under Windows. There is
no bluetooth icon. The bluetooth manager says "Bluetooth is disabled"
whether I set it to On or Off.

The modified kernel is because I installed btusb-lp1506615-dkms from
https://launchpad.net/~hanipouspilot/+archive/ubuntu/bluetooth . No
change in behavior.
