Yea, I think the complete xorg freeze-up issues are different as I can still switch to a console and CTRL+ALT+BKSP just fine to kill the server (and it looks like the others with Mobility 7500s can too). Just to be clear for others, this bug is for the open 'ati' driver, not the proprietary 'fglrx' driver.
