Public bug reported: After upgrading my two laptops (HP EliteBook 8470p, Sony Vaio, both several years old) to 15.10 both started freezing within 12 hours of booting and the screens started flickering when X did fade-out and fade- ins.
Booting the HP with the 15.04 kernel (3.19.0-31) makes it stable again. The sony vaoi was downgraded to 14.04 and is stable there.
