Christian, thank you very much for your help. Here is the info you've requested:
$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date X555LN.311 04/10/2015 I've updated BIOS, and was able to successfully change display position using System Settings / Display (I had to press Detect Displays for that to work). However, after I logged out from Unity, I was not able to log back --- Unity now crashes back to the login screen. I will try running xrandr and report results in the next comment. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512672 Title: Xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1512672/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
