I come to this conclusion by using the file I specified in the bug
report, that is "pdftricks.sty" notpstricks alone, do the following:
$ cat test.tex
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{pdftricks}
\begin{document}
Hello world
\end{document}
$ pdflatex test.tex
