Sorry about my first comment... very poor. My exact experience is this: When network-manager try to stablish an wpa connection (just after it asks you the passphrase) the system becomes totally freeze. No n-m icon animation, no mouse, no ctrl-alt-f11, ctrl- alt-del, etc.
