That particular issue is dissimilar than mine because no extra icons where placed on my desktop.
The link on my desktop does connect to the correct HDD; you'll also notice that, in the picture I posted, when I'm exploring the drive/folder it displays the correct name of 'Mymusic' in the title bar but the but the navigation bar displays the non-sensical naming scheme.
