I'm getting exactly the same issue and hence connot provide any additional information.
I do have a general comment though. I purchased the laptop from Ebuyer with 12.04 LTS preinstalled. A big part of the reason for the purchase was because I am not a linux developer so I have limited skills in resolving linux problems. I believed that as the laptop was provided in "partnership" with Canonical the laptop hardware would be well supported and there would be no upgrade issues and hence easy to support. If we want to encourage the general public to use Linux, especially Ubuntu, ensuring pre-installed machines endorsed by Canonical is essential. I'm looking forward to an early resolution of this one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1467456 Title: package linux-firmware 1.79.11 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite `/lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8723befw.bin', which is the diverted version of `/lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8723befw.bin.diverted' (package: oem-wireless-skyray-rtl8723be-1265442-dkms) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1467456/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
