I also have noticed this with some laptops I have installed on. However the image is more of a "ghostly" type image and the computer dosnt boot up properly. Usually the alternate cd is the best way to get around this bug. I have also found this bug with Debian, it seems to happen with only ati mobility cards (from my limited installs)
