Hi

I am using 7.04 (upgraded from 6.10 and 6.4 before that) I moved from
one DHCP LAN to another and the networking did not work. I disabled
enabled networking (from gnome) still nothing even after disabling
iptables, and then tried a static address on the LAN. I was then able
to get a working connection. I changed back to DHCP and nothing, so I
resorted to manually changing /etc/network/interfaces

I removed eth0 enteries and added:

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

The gnome tools had auth eth0 after the dhcp settings. Not 100% sure
but is it possible that that is trying to get an ipaddress from DHCP
then enable it?
