Bug is present in fresh install of Lubuntu 14.04 (i32). Copy/paste also pastes double.
im-config indicates "Active configuration: ibus," which is the default. Transgui is the only app with this behavior. Oddly, as forkirara noted, running as root kills the bug (but then can't connect to the daemon).
