Public bug reported: I have Toshiba Eqium 350d, AMD Athlon 64 dual core processor TK57. Graphics Gallium 0.4 on ATI RS690 and I am running Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit.
I have been using Ubuntu since version 10.04 along with Peppermint on occasion. I have had it installed previously on my Packard Bell, Lenovo X60s, Dell and a couple of other computers. However I have never been able to run flash content satisfactorily on any of them. I have reported this as a bug several times under a couple of user names. OK. Again I am having problems with flash content. I installed Ubuntu on this computer since May this year. I have visited the Ask Ubuntu website several times. I have followed every piece of advice that seems relevant but so far to no avail. All flash content is jerky. BBC Iplayer is the worst. On Firefox especially. But all flash content is jerky on all websites. In both minimised and full screen modes. I have installed and uninstalled all available software/plug ins via the software centre and terminal but as yet (over nearly 5 years on several computers) I have never been able to completely fix it. At the moment flash is almost unuseable/unwatchable. To add to the issue, several websites with flash content cause my web browser and often even my whole computer to permanently freeze resulting in my having to force shut down my computer via the power button several times a day, a problem I have encountered before with this issue. Please help, aside from the web browsing issues I am a big fan of the Linux based OS's, particularly Ubuntu. I don't know if you can see in my history but I believe I have reported these bugs several times in the last weeks via crash reports - you know the firefox has experienced an error and has had to shut down crash reports. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1483884 Title: problems with flash in chromium and firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1483884/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
