Public bug reported: With xfce and Thunar radio tray is not usable. It does not show up in any panel so there is no way to access its menus. According to its log ~/.locale/share/radiotray/radiotray.log it starts fine. And ps -eaf shows itlive. But without a way to access the menus it cannot work. This on a machine converted from gnome to xfce and on another with xubuntu installed from the beginning.
On 14.04 running gnome ( using metacity not unity), on the other hand, the radiotray icon shows up and it all works properly. Nothing I can find mentions any special actions to make radiotray work on xfce... ======log entries, latest radiotray startup: (~/.local/share/radiotray/radiotray.log) 2015-07-29 18:50:46,586 - DEBUG - Loading configuration... 2015-07-29 18:50:46,586 - INFO - Starting Radio Tray... 2015-07-29 18:50:46,586 - INFO - Loading bookmarks file: /home/davea/.local/share/radiotray/bookmarks.xml 2015-07-29 18:50:46,586 - DEBUG - Bookmarks file loaded with success 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - DEBUG - PLS playlist decoder 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - DEBUG - M3U playlist decoder 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - DEBUG - ASX-familiy playlist decoder 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - DEBUG - XSPF playlist decoder 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - DEBUG - Initializing ASF playlist decoder 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - DEBUG - RAM playlist decoder 2015-07-29 18:50:46,587 - INFO - Using url timeout = 100 2015-07-29 18:50:46,592 - DEBUG - App Indicator selected 2015-07-29 18:50:46,605 - INFO - finding plugins in user plugin path 2015-07-29 18:50:46,605 - INFO - finding plugins in system plugin path 2015-07-29 18:50:46,605 - DEBUG - /usr/share/radiotray/plugins/matemediakeys.plugin 2015-07-29 18:50:46,605 - DEBUG - /usr/share/radiotray/plugins/helloworld.plugin 2015-07-29 18:50:46,606 - DEBUG - /usr/share/radiotray/plugins/notification.plugin 2015-07-29 18:50:46,606 - DEBUG - /usr/share/radiotray/plugins/sleeptimer.plugin 2015-07-29 18:50:46,606 - DEBUG - /usr/share/radiotray/plugins/history.plugin 2015-07-29 18:50:46,606 - DEBUG - /usr/share/radiotray/plugins/gnomemediakeys.plugin ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: radiotray 0.7.3-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-59.98-generic 3.13.11-ckt22 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-59-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.11 Architecture: i386 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Wed Jul 29 19:00:46 2015 PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: radiotray UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2014-07-21 (373 days ago) ** Affects: radiotray (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1479584 Title: radiotray on xfce: no menus, no icon.
